PAH-FEST:Elko 2007

PAH-Fest wants to help you produce your personal visual story—or Cellphone Art—or Webcam Art—during the week of the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering in Elko, Nevada. PAH-Fest, which stands for "Project Accessible Hollywood," is a new kind of digital media festival. Christopher Coppola, in association with the Western Folklife Center and Great Basin College, is bringing PAH-Fest to Elko... AND WE WANT YOU TO BE A PART OF IT!
FESTIVAL FEATURES
Mobiflicks
To enter the Mobiflicks competition:.
- Submit a story idea paragraph, 250 words or less. It can be about almost anything that's important to you, but keep in mind you'll be making the entire piece in 3 days.
- The names of three people who will help you make the piece. This is your "PAH-FEST" team. These people may be finalized at a later date, but you will need to provide the team before the festival begins.
- The name of your PAH-FEST team. Something representative about you, your story, or your team. It could be your heritage, your age, your neighborhood, your favorite cowboy, something unique that let's the world know who you are, and where your story's coming from.
Three winning teams will be invited to Elko, Nevada to complete their movies in 3 days. PAH-Fest will provide everything you will need to make your film: a prosumer camera and editing system, plus a one-day crash course to help you prepare for production. All finalist films will be screened during a festival event. The winning team will discuss the process of making their film, and take questions from the audience. Teams will be eligible to win cash prizes!
Webcam Art
Just bring yourself (and costumes/props if you like) to make a 2 minute or less movie with a webcam. Date and time TBD. Cash prizes will be awarded to the winning movie.
Cellphone Art
We will provide video cell phones for you to make a 1-minute movie on a topic to be announced on the day of the competition. Date and time TBD. Cash prizes will be awarded to the winning movie.
All PAH-FEST finalist's work will be screened and awards announced on Thursday, February 1st. Check back for location.
